Usually, you will get there in the afternoon and a boat will be waiting for you, according to our arrangement with you. AmaZOOnico/Liana Lodge ist situated at 1.3 km from Puerto Barantilla, along the road.
If you arrive later than 6 pm, you might need to call for a boat on n° 099 800 463.
By bus from Quito, via Tena
- From Quito, Terminal Terrestre, take the 7am bus (Expreso Baños, $ 6.00) to Tena. Please watch your luggage.
- Arrival in Tena between 12 and 1 pm. Get off at the last stop.
By bus from Baños, via Tena
- From Baños Terminal de Buses take the 8 am bus to Tena.
- Arrival in Tena around 12. Get off at the last stop.
From Tena a Puerto Barantilla (Liana Lodge)
- The bus to Puerto Barantilla/Santa Rosa del Napo leaves at 2.30 pm.
- The tickets are sold by the agencies Sentinella del Tena and Transporte Jumandy, along the main road, close to the bus stop. Ask the bus driver to leave you at Puerto Barantilla, arrival around 4.15 pm.
By car from Quito
- Quito-Papallacta-Baeza-Tena-Puerto Napo. Ca. 5h.
- For lunch, we recommend the restaurant Gina in Baeza, on the right side entering the town.
- In Puerto Napo, immediately after crossing the main bridge (Rio Napo) turn left (signs).
- Then, follow the road on 40 km until you see the sign Puerto Rio Barantilla – Liana Lodge
- Cars can be left behind the metallic door.
By car from Baños
- Baños-Puyo-Tena-Puerto Napo. Ca. 4h.
- For lunch, we recommend the restaurant El Jardin in Puyo, on the right side juste before leaving the town.
- In Puerto Napo, just before the main bridge (Rio Napo) turn right (signs).
- Then, follow the road on 40 km until you see the sign Puerto Rio Barantilla – Liana Lodge
- Cars can be left behind the metallic door.
Get the boat to Liana Lodge
At Puerto Barantilla, walk towards the river on 30 meters and a boat should be waiting for you, as arranged.
