Pakas have a pig-like stature. They are chestnut-coloured with whit spots on the side. As most of the nocturnal animals, also Pakas have big dark eyes, the have a stump tail and short ears. During the day, they are staying in their underground dens, during the night they go searching for food (tubers, leaves, fruit) on their own or in pairs. Because of their tender meat, Pakas are a popular hunting-prey.
